School – Phoenix International School

Casa della Pace,
the House of the Phoenix

zig zag

The site embodies the awareness of being citizens of a technologically advanced world without losing sight of the extraordinary heritage that the Italian territory puts at our disposal. We want to teach our students to love the past, appreciate its roots and use the tools at their disposal to build the future they dream of, a cutting-edge future.

The project took inspiration from a research conducted on several International Institutions around the world. They all had one feature in common regardless of their location: huge green spaces. At Phoenix Intenational School, children have access to the wonderful park of the 'Casa della Pace' and a recreation ground equipped with a multi-purpose court for outdoor physical activity. Our sport activities include tennis, volleyball, basketball, five-a-side football and swimming.

Phoenix International School puts at the students’ disposal the beautiful grounds of the 'Casa della Pace', the sports area equipped with a multi-functional field designed for the safe practice of outdoor physical activities. A large area is dedicated to the cultivation of fruit, vegetables and plants that will, among other uses, be employed to prepare the students' meals.

A large area is dedicated to the cultivation of fruit, vegetables and plants that will, among other things, be used to prepare the students' meals.

Accessibility

La scuola si trova nel centro storico di Chieri, comoda da raggiungere a piedi e con i mezzi pubblici

Qualified teachers

All teachers, both native Italian and native English speakers, have been selected not only on the basis of their extensive experience but also the desire to bring significant changes to education

PTO

The PTO, Parents-Teachers Organisation, is an association of volunteering parents and teachers within the School who share the goal of safeguarding the well-being of children and young people. The Institute becomes not only the home of the Phoenix, but also of the families involved

The Bilingual approach

Our programme of studies pays special attention to foreign language learning as an indispensable channel of communication, as well as a tool for educational and social inclusion

Methodology

La The Montessori philosophyaims at cognitive training through each child personal development. This methodology will live in association with the English International School Curriculum that supports children and young people in hands-on laboratory and experiential learning within classrooms designed in line with the Apple Education project punta alla formazione cognitiva attraverso le personali caratteristiche di ogni bambino. Questa metodologia vivrà in associazione con il Curriculum English International School che affianca i bambini e i ragazzi in un apprendimento pratico, laboratoriale ed esperenziale all’interno di aule studiate seguendo il progetto Apple Education

Small groups

Our programme of studies pays careful attention to school integration, which is why we provide small classes and eliminate overcrowding. When a child is in a class that is too large, it becomes almost impossible to emerge, or even survive. The Nursery School class groups are limited to a maximum of 8 children, while in Preschool, Primary and secondary each class will accommodate a maximum of 20 pupils

Apple Education

The partnership with Apple Education supports students in dealing with a technologically challenging world and making learning more effective while never abusing it or taking the place of a good book. Classrooms and labs are equipped with Apple technology and tools to implement a hands-on approach, laboratory and experience-based learning in classrooms designed by Apple Education

Philosophy – Phoenix International School

Homework stays in school

Our educational programme stipulates that children should be allowed to be children. They spend most of their days at school and we feel it is right not to burden them with additional homework. This approach will ensure the development of an essential skill for both school and working life: time management.

We believe that in order to foster a love of education and learning, it is necessary to create a positive relationship with school and everything that is part of it, therefore Phoenix International School is a homework-free school

School - The uniform

Uniform

We aspire to eradicate social differences and to develop a sense of belonging to the school with pride and joy. The school uniform acts as a great deterrent to bullying; feeling part of the same team by celebrating belonging eliminates discrimination based on appearance and financial means. In this way, the younger ones will look up to the older students and follow their example. In return, they will strive to be a valuable role model for the little Phoenixes
