Let's keep exploring the world!

Phoenix Preschool adopts the Montessori approach in both languages taught: Italian and English. Preschool children interact with two teachers on a daily basis, ensuring that bilingual learning is fluid, consistent and enjoyable.
The Montessori philosophy is a child-centred approach: Phoenix International School ensures that all children learn in total peace and harmony. They are encouraged to take their own time, they are taught that there is not a standardised educational path for all, but that everyone can choose what nuances their own will take. Furthermore, the little ones learn that anything can be achieved with hard work and the use of their powerful imagination: that's the right time to Imagine!

The Montessori educational approach places the child at the centre of learning: through play, the child can choose when, how and which learning path to take. Experienced lead teachers are constantly at the child's side, providing unceasing support and a tool of discovery for children, with the aim of reaching self awareness and leadership

Preschool – Scuola dell'Infanzia – The Bilingual approach
The Bilingual approach
Choosing a bilingual education for children from 3 to 6 years old offers enormous opportunities for the future. Introducing the second language from a very young age will enable them to acquire it naturally. Making sense of the world around them using two languages has a positive impact on other aspects of cognitive development, such as attention management. The two sections of the Preschool, Griffins and Unicorns, will spend their school day interacting with the mother tongue Italian and English teachers

Outdoors
In order to learn to respect our Planet and its life forms, it is fundamental to establish a positive approach to Nature. This process is only possible if introduced as an essential part of children's lives from an early age. At their disposal, PHIS children have the stunning park of the House of Peace, the sports area equipped with a multi-purpose field for outdoor physical activity, and a large area dedicated to the cultivation of fruit, vegetables and plants that will, among other things, be used to prepare their meals

Choosing a bilingual school for your children means giving them enormous opportunities for the future. In the modern globalised world, bilingual education plays a crucial role and offers distinctive advantages, especially for the younger generation. Bilingual speakers are invaluable in today's world, their job prospects will broaden and their social horizons will expand. Introducing the second language from an early age allows children to acquire it naturally. Children use both languages to make sense of the world and the process has significant positive effects on other aspects of cognitive development, such as attention management.
We aspire to eradicate social differences and to develop a sense of belonging to the school with pride and joy. The school uniform acts as a great deterrent to bullying; feeling part of the same team by celebrating belonging eliminates discrimination based on appearance and financial means. In this way, the younger ones will look up to the older students and follow their example. In return, they will strive to be a valuable role model for the little Phoenixes.

Montessori methodology aims at the intellectual, emotional, creative, physical, social and moral development of young children. Students experience a relaxed school environment, constantly stimulated by the teachers' trust in their capaabilities. The goals are set taking into account the personal aptitudes of each student, thus enabling each child to complete projects with a steady dedication and free from mental exhaustion.
The core principle of the Montessori framework is to trust children. The main difference with other educational methods lies in the adoption of a child-centered approach where each pupil is regarded as possessing an individual personality with a unique talent. The Montessori child is therefore endowed with skills to be developed independently in order to foster self discovery and the world.
